About The Plain Line
The Plain Line exists to make one confusing subject clear: medical cannabis in the UK.
It has been legal here since 2018, yet most people still do not know that, and those who do find a confusing, often commercial picture. The pages that fill search results mostly belong to clinics, and a clinic’s job is to sign you up, not to give you the straight story. That gap is why we exist.
What we do
We are an independent publication. We explain the law, the process, the costs, and your rights, in plain English, with our sources shown. We keep a glossary of the words you will meet, and we build free tools to help you work things out for yourself. We do not prescribe, sell, or rank anyone.
Our one principle
We explain, we do not persuade. We are not here to talk you into medical cannabis, or out of it. We are here so that whatever you decide, you decide it clearly, with good information and someone in your corner.
Independent by design
We are not owned by a clinic, and we do not take payment to recommend one. How we fund the work, and the firewall that keeps money away from what we write, is set out plainly on our How we make money page. The standards we hold ourselves to are on our Editorial standards page.
Who we are
The Plain Line is edited by Josiah Reed and published by Rowanshire, a trading name of Brilliso Ltd. As we grow, contributors will write under their own names.
